On behalf of "Friends of the Hill", I would like to welcome you all to the new Denniston website. I myself was born on the West Coast in a small mining town called Runanga. I knew very little about Denniston until I read about it in the "Denniston Rose". I have had a fascination with it ever since which lead me to contact Sylvia and offer my company's (Rad3.com) services to create a new website for Denniston with a view to educating people on Dennistons history, promote it as a tourist destination and to help preserve the history and artefacts of what is a truly spectacular place with an amazing history. Just checkout the photos below...

I visited Denniston as a 12 year old in 1953, we were in Waimang for the Crawford wedding and went up late one afternoon, I have never forgotten that trip and visit.I have often told the story that it was to my eyes what Hades must have been like
Also spent hours just watching the incline in operation, what a sight, having just read Denniston Rose and Heart of coal it has got me started to look it up on the web, I am blown away with the wealth of material available.
On my next trip back to NZ I will be making a return trip to visit once again, Michael Thoms Fiji
